Our School Day

Our School Day
The school day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.10pm.  Children can 'filter' into school from 8.35am; rise and shine activities are ready for the children to do as they walk in.  Registration is from 8.45am.

Morning playtimes
At 10.15am, children from KS1 have a short 15 minute break with a quick burst of exercise, followed by, KS2 children at 10.30am.

Reception have break times which are quite flexible.  Towards the end of the school year, they will join children in Key Stage 1 to have breaks at set times.

Lunch
Children in Reception have their lunch at 11.50am, children having school dinners from KS1 and KS2 at 12.00 noon and children having packed lunches from 12.35pm.  Lunctimes for all end at 1.00pm.

Afternoon playtimes
Younger children have an afternoon playtime.

Drop-off and collection
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

Getting to school
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option. There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike an scooter racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely.
